Different than Joss Whedon's "usual" fare (if there can be said to be such a thing), but interesting idea.
Smoke and Mirrors try to deceive you that there's a story here. Likable actors. What would've saved this movie is if the script writers had been clever enough to actually plant seeds/evidence to support the conclusion while still surprising the audience. As it is, if you're surprised, it is just because there is no support for it so guessing it would be just as valid as any other guess. They keep saying these people are doing such amazing things, but the real-life audience is not as amazed as the ones in the film. Not the worst movie I've seen, but not much going on here, honestly.
